It’s easy to get caught up in all the luxury being exuded by a BMW vehicle. Renowned for their classy appearances and timeless builds, BMW cars are quite the lookers, and people often take notice of them on the road. Unfortunately, as BMWs became more and more popular as status symbols, their mystique died down a bit, and they no longer blow people away like they used to. A lot of that has to do with familiarity. So many BMWs rolling off the same dealer lot, so much of the same car, both inside and out. Below, we’ll go over some tips for radically or subtly altering your BMW’s interior space, so you can personalize it to your taste, so you can make it truly distinctive instead of just another carbon copy.
Seating
Seating is a great place to start when beginning your BMW interior upgrades. That’s because you spend most of y our time in your car planted to the seat cushion, so your comfort is dependent on it. And because car seats take up so much of the interior space available, they’re highly relevant to the overall appearance afforded your BMW. Poorly maintained seats or ones that have dated prematurely will stand out like sore thumbs, but not in a good way. Stock materials that are well maintained but look just like every other BMW interior seating design also don’t do you any favors. With aftermarket racing seats, you can really pump some adrenaline into the look of your car’s cabin. If you don’t want to install new seating, designer seat covers can offer you distinctive looks for less money and with less overall effort expended.
Steering Wheels
A steering wheel is a driver’s connection point with his car. Without it, he cannot direct the car in any way, and the car is quite useless without one. BMW steering wheels need not be only functional components. You can equip them with added features, such as radio controls, or get ones designed with wood finishes or specially made materials. Some drivers prefer extra grip on their steering wheels, others want a wheel with much more fluid handling motions. Whatever way you want to relate to your steering wheel, just make sure it looks good doing it.
Smaller Touches
Sometimes, the small stuff adds up into something big. Everything from dingy floor mats to broken gauges can really impede a BMW from looking its best, and so these items should be replaced immediately. Even worn-down shift knobs can be replaced with custom-made, designer shift knobs. New car pedals and arm rests can also give your feet and arms new places to rest upon in the car. Whatever little area needs a touch-up or two, don’t forget about it. After all, one ugly feature, no matter how small, can affect the entire interior space of your car.
